Vineyard Community Care
Mountain District Vineyard Church is passionate about helping those who are less fortunate than ourselves within our local community. Vineyard Community Care is our compassion arm
comprising of the community meal and food parcels. If you would like to help in any of these areas contact the office on 9738 0065 or mdvcinc@bigpond.com
Food Distribution
The people of MDVC collect food from Vic Relief, a food distribution point in Dandenong, so that we can give out food items to people within the local community that are in need. On the first Wednesday of the month from 9.30am-12noon our office is open for people from the community to come down and pick up a food box. Our primary catchment area is for the residents of the City of Knox. People from outside our catchment area can come for food up to three times per year. No Health Care care is needed to access our food, we only require basic I.D (proof of address).
Food items avaiable change from month to month depending on what food we are able to obtain. Frozen and refrigerated foods are sometimes available.
The Church Community is also encouraged to take the boxes to their neighbours and friends who are in need, as a way of illustrating how Jesus helped the poor. If you would like to help with this ministry, or to receive a box, contact the office on 9738 0065 or mdvcinc@bigpond.com, please write in the subject line food parcel.
