‘Sharing the Joy’ – Knox Emergency Relief Christmas Appeal

Posted in Vineyard Community Care at 1:57 pm by anne

Again in 2011 Mountain District Vineyard Church will partner with other organisations in the Knox Emergency Relief Network to  support Knox families doing it tough at Christmas time. ’

The ‘Sharing the Joy’ Christmas appeal was launched in 2010 Together we were able to help out over 350 families in need in the Knox area.  This year we look forward to being able to help even more families.

Christmas can be a difficult time for families to pay bills as well as buy food and presents.  This is especially true for people on lower  incomes , as a result of unemployment, reduced work hours, fragile mental or physical health, increasing rent or housing costs as well as struggling with the increasing cost of living.

The Knox Community Christmas Support( KCCS) project aim is to reach families and individuals in need with a hamper of festive food and a selection of quality gifts for children.

How you can  help…….

Donations:

Through the donations of goods such as non-persihable  foods, gift vouchers and toys (new) from birth to 18 years.

Or perhaps you would be able to help with a cash donation. All monetary donations will be put towards purchasing food and toys.

All donations are tax deductible.

Volunteering:

A number of volunteer roles will be a available. People will be needed to help  to collect, pack and sort donations. Or helping in a client collection point in late December to distribute hampers and gifts.

A Working with children’s Card  and Police check are required.

Or

You could  have a wishing tree at your organisation to collect donations.

(Idea gift cards are available and  promotional posters are available to display.)
